Anaesthetist Insurance FAQs

What indemnity cover do I need for anaesthetist?

The level of indemnity cover you need depends on your specific role, employer requirements, and professional body recommendations. Many employers and professional bodies specify minimum cover levels. Our advisors can help you determine the appropriate level when you request a quote.

What is a "claims made" policy?

MMI 4u typically provides policies on a "claims made" basis, meaning the policy responds to claims first made and notified during the policy period. This differs from "claims occurring" policies which cover incidents that occurred during the policy period, regardless of when the claim is made.

How can I get a quote?

You can request a quote online and we'll get back to you promptly with your personalised quotation. Alternatively, call us on 02071 185247 to speak with an advisor.

How much does medical indemnity insurance cost?

Premiums vary based on your profession, level of cover, and individual circumstances. Our policies start from £45 per year, subject to policy terms and eligibility criteria. Get a quote for your personalised premium.

What if I've been declined cover elsewhere?

We specialise in providing cover for medical professionals who have been declined by other providers, including the MDU. Our online form will ask about your previous insurance history, and we'll work to find suitable cover for your circumstances.

Do I need run-off cover?

If you have a claims-made policy and are retiring or ceasing practice, you'll typically need run-off cover to protect against claims made after your policy ends. This is especially important for medical professionals, as claims can arise years after treatment. Speak to our advisors for details.

Can I pay monthly?

Yes, we offer monthly direct debit payment options for policies over 90, subject to policy terms. This allows you to spread the cost throughout the year.
